Hi Kirk - that is a pretty old article that you replied to. I have since written a couple of more, including this one about the opening of One Network Bank:

http://journeytosamal.com/2010/11/onb-samal-island/

I was not aware of Central Rural Bank, and did not see it when I went through Babak late last year. I went through Babak a few times, so I'm not sure why I missed it, but it's good to know that there is more than one option. I thought One Network Bank looked like it would work for me.

There are banks and ATM machines in Samal island located in Babak district: century rural bank, inc.; money mall; and one network bank. the two banks except money mall have their own ATM machine.

Hi Kevin - so you saw banks? This article makes it sound as though there aren't any. Certainly not any ATMs anyway. I'd be interested in what you find on your video.

I can't remember which banks are there on Samal. I'll take a look of some video when we were driving around.
If you're near the resorts, getting back to Davao by ferry is not that far. And there are lots of banks very near to the ferry terminal on the Davao side.
