Camp Holiday Beach Resort Samal
Just recently opened, without a lot of fanfare, is a slightly different approach to the beach resort. Camp Holiday Beach Resort is, like it’s name implies, a camping resort. It’s located next the ferry terminal in Babak, Island Garden City of Samal.
With a fully enclosed beach swimming area, plans are to also include waterslides, but those are not yet complete. There are cottages available, along with tent rentals. You are encouraged to bring your own food to barbecue, but there is no restaurant at this time (restaraunt is now open) . They do have a bar, so you are not allowed to bring drinks in. Plans are still evolving so you can expect additions in the future. Admission fee is P50.
There are 22 hotel rooms that cost around P1, 500 per night or in air-conditioned cottage for P1, 800 only. Both hotel rooms and cottages are fully equipped of needed amenities including an air conditioner, Cable TV and hot and cold shower. WiFi is available in the lobby but not the rooms.
I believe this is owned by Davao Wess Jay Development Corporation. There is a photo gallery here.

Hi Randy, thanks for posting this. I live in the area, and I wouldn’t mind meeting and sharing information about Samal with your readers who come. I’ve been here for less than a year, and have still lots to learn about life on the island. If I am not in the pavilion, then the people behind the bar should know where to call me. Thanks again, Ellen
Hi Ellen – thanks for the offer to meet with readers. I hope when they are there they will take you up on it. I look forward to meeting you on our next trip. You should know the island pretty well by then
Greetings,
I read several articles and comments about the Camp Holiday Resort and would like to contact someone there directly. My wife and I have a 40′ yacht (about 17 tons) and would like to sail there from Palau and also to haul out. I haven’t been able to find an e-mail address, phone number or snail mail address. I would appreciate any information you might provide.
Thanks for your assistance.
Tom
Hello Tom, I have emailed you directly on information regarding boatyards and marina. Camp Holiday is really not a yacht facility, although it is just right across the boatyard and ferry terminal. So it is a good place for accommodation and relaxation while your boat is on the hard in the yard. Cheers, Ellen
Thanks for the reply, Ellen. Both for Tom and others that may have similar needs.

Hi Sheila – my Bisaya isn’t that good yet. I got a little of it but had to had it translated for me:
I hope Camp Holiday is indeed beautiful. We have decided to stay there during our next visit. I’ll give an honest report of our stay.
how much is the overnight?we are almost 13 persons..and we want a house for staying a night..
I don’t believe they have a single room/house for a group that size. The cottages we stayed in had a bed for two. There were some families with children, but nothing that would house that many people unless you got multiple rooms.
The rates are P1500 for the hotel rooms and P1800 for the cottages.
room service ?
I can’t recall if they referred to it as room service, but they brought our breakfast to our cottage one morning. There are menus in the rooms.
Hi Randy C,
Thanks for posting this. It really helps.
Hi Abbie – I have a much newer article with updated info. It should still be on the front page of my blog.
is there a pool for adults now? how much is the rent for their tents?
They have a full size pool, which seems appropriate for adults IMO.
Overnight stay is Php 150, but I don’t think they have tents, you’d need your own.
Contact info is available in the resort directory.
Good luck. I hope you enjoy your stay.
Good day.
Are the food affordable? Is the overnight rate inclusive of free breakfast? Do you have a list of the manu available online?
Thanks.
Maayong adlaw, devs.
It would be best to contact Camp Holiday directly in regards to your questions.
From what I remember the food was reasonably priced. I do not think the breakfast was included, but I could be wrong on that. The menu you would need to discuss with them but I have not seen one online. They did have pizza on their menu when I visited, as well as filipino fare.
